YOU’RE INVITED TO
Join Our Operation Christmas Child Challenge
Help a child experience God’s love at Christmas!
This event runs from Sept. 29 – Nov. 3
We’re planning to bless underserved children at Christmas again this year! By partnering with Samaritan’s Purse in packing shoe boxes with small toys and other needed items for kids between the ages of 2-14, we hope deserving kids around our nation and the world will experience the joy that comes from knowing God’s love firsthand. For many of these children, it may be the first or only gift they have ever received. So while most of us aren’t eager to think about Christmas just yet, to ensure our boxes can reach even the most remote places by the holiday, we’ll need to head to a dollar store soon! For that reason, shoeboxes will be available to pick up at Living Water Church beginning Sunday, September 29 and filled boxes must be back no later than Sunday, November 3.
Go shopping as a family! It’s a great way for you to help your kids experience the joy of giving! You’ll find a downloadable list of gift suggestions to take with you, along with guidelines about what not to include here. Decide if you want to pack a box for a boy or girl, aged 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14, and once you’ve filled a box or two, just drop them off at the corner of S. Sashabaw and Seymour Lake and Rds. To cover the cost of shipping across the globe, please also include a check in the amount of $10, made out to Samaritan’s Purse with “OCC” in the memo. Or, if you prefer, you can go to their secure site here, to pay for the shipping online with a debit or credit card and print off a special prepaid label that will enable you to track where your box goes.*
*All receipts (for both cash and non-cash donations) are tax-deductible, and Charity Navigator gives Samaritan’s Purse 4-stars, rating them as one of the best International Development and Relief Non-profits around.
