SINGLE LADIES GROUP EVENTS
This Connect group was created to give all the single ladies who attend our church an opportunity to gather together outside of worship and get to know each other better, to share their joys and concerns, to make some new authentic friendships, and to simply enjoy some times of fun and socializing together. They typically meet once or twice a month, and the range of their varied activities are only limited by the imaginations of the participants.
Currently, the ladies have two upcoming events planned. (See below.)
Sign up to attend one or both of these events by completing the form at the bottom of this page.
APRIL EVENT
A Lunch and Service Opportunity
Palm Sunday, April 13 @ 11:30 a.m.
For this event, the ladies will gather immediately after worship to help stuff plastic eggs with treats for the Easter Egg Hunt the church will be hosting for the community the following week. Then once those have been stuffed, they plan to head for downtown Oxford, to enjoy having lunch together at The Ox restaurant. If you would like to participate, use the form at the bottom of this page to sign up.
MAY EVENT
A Live Dinner Theater Opportunity
Saturday, May 24 @ 10 a.m.
This event is being organized by the Single Ladies’ Connect Group, but it is open to the entire church.
Tickets must be reserved by April 13 and include a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings, as well as the live show.
(Gratuties for the wait staff are additional.)
For this special outing, participants will depart in a caravan from the church parking lot at 10 a.m., to carpool to Cornwell’s Professional Dinner Theater near Marshall, MI. At noon, we’ll receive a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and at 1 p.m. the musical comedy “Nunsense” will begin. This Dan Goggin play was first introduced off Broadway in 1985. It quickly became a commercial blockbuster and the second-longest running off-Broadway show in history! The story unfolds when five nuns must resort to presenting a talent show, in order to raise funds to bury the rest of their order, who died after eating tainted vichyssoise. This vaudville-style musical comedy, featuring lots of toe-tapping tunes and rapid-fire jokes traveling at breakneck speed, promise to have us all shedding tears of pure joy! If you would like to learn more, fill out the form at the botton of this page and the organizer will contact you to share more information.
NOTE: Although the Single Ladies are the group that is organizing this event, it is open to the entire church. This means that our married women, their husbands, and all the single guys in the congregation are welcome to participate too!
